Have rents peaked after the significant percentage increased the last few years?

Renting in San Diego, particularly North San Diego County has gotten what one might call “expensive.” Here are a few indicators:

Sample # 1
———————–
2544 La Costa Avenue
Carlsbad, CA 92009
I managed/ rented it for $3500/mo in Summer of 2012.
After selling it last year for $845,000, the new owner rented it for $4500/mo.
That is a 29% increase in approximately 31 months.
